Edmund Tucker

Edmund Ronald Tucker (21 March 1902 - 24 July 1964) was the headmaster of Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe from 1933 to his death in 1964.

Born and educated in Wales, he was a scholar of Jesus College, Oxford, where he read Classics, and he later took at external degree (with 1st class honours) at London University. He came to RGS High Wycombe from Pocklington School where he had been Second Master for a number of years.^[1]

Tucker was appointed headmaster of RGS High Wycombe on 29 March 1933, succeeding George Wright Arnison, and remained head until his death. The school expanded greatly during his term of office and he was elected to the Headmaster's Conference in 1943.^[2]
